Systems / Software Project Manager - Contract - Slough

6 months - Drug Discovery - Science - Software Engineering - Pharmaceutical

Paramount are keen to speak to Software experts for a 6-month contract in Berkshire. This company are at the forefront of drug discovery, supporting both early and late development projects in therapeutic areas such as the central nervous system (CNS). This role would sit within the Information Management team.

As a Project Manager, you will be focused on workflows, data processing and exploitation of data in the context of drug discovery. You will work closely with closely with Scientists and Developers to enhance and maintain platforms and tools to support the company pipeline.

Additional Responsibilities:

*Lead the management and enhancement of their existing software's solutions.
*Collect and communicate requirements and change requests, prepare and execute user acceptance test plans, oversee the delivery of the overall solution.
*Ensure that the necessary IT or Informatics tools and training are available to scientists (write tutorials, examples, case studies).
*Act as a domain expert in the compound logistics field; collect and communicate requirements for the enhancements of the Compound Management system
*Provide domain expertise to software development teams in order to make sure deliveries fit with needs.
*Kick off, oversee and monitor the developments as well as the acceptance tests.
*Ensure that the necessary IT and Informatics tools and training are available to scientists, so that they understand and realize the potential contribution of the IT systems
*Deliver guidance as well as tactical data management solutions to the scientist so as to improve operations and decision-making processes.
*Influence the way scientists work in the lab, drive the team to design more productive and efficient processes
*Provide tactical solutions to project teams and functional groups that address specific data integration, data analysis or data interpretation needs.

Experience Required:

*3+ years experience within the pharmaceutical sector
*Ability to work with a wide variety of scientists
*Experience in the large multi-site multi-disciplinary IT project
*Experience with outsourced processes & external collaborations
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Exposure to lab robotics & automation
*Some travel to Europe required
*Solid foundation in logistics and drug discovery systems
*Experience delivering custom software engineering and configuration
*Experience with a variety of logistics systems
*Business analysis techniques such as lean sigma
*Strong ability to communicate and present ideas/concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
*Exposure to Data pipeline tools such as Pipeline Pilot or Knime would be an asset
