Senior/Biostatistician - Pharmaceutical - Hertfordshire

Biostatistician - Clinical Research - SAS - Pharmaceutical - Berkshire - Statistics

Paramount is working with a leading global pharmaceutical company who are currently looking to hire a Biostatistician or Senior Biostatistician into the office in Hertfordshire. This role is a permanent opportunity and will be part of a global team, allowing exposure to international studies.

This role will be integral to providing support to statistical aspects of assigned clinical project work and ad hoc statistical consultancy. This also includes quality of statistical input to study design and reporting and working to Good Clinical Practice (GCP).


*Statistical input to protocol, Case Report Form review, Data Validation Plan review, SDTM review, randomisation
*Programming of analysis datasets, tables, figures, listings for clinical study reports
*Writing statistical analysis plan (SAP) and project management of statistical report
*Presentation of key results internally
*Oversight of study set up to projects outsourced to CRO's
*Protocol review, quality control of SAP's, key datasets, statistical analysis, summary tables and listings
*Reviewing, programming and QC of datasets, tables, figures, listings for submissions Input to and review of documentation of datasets for submissions
*Statistical input to safety data reports, benefit risk reports and other pharmacovigilence documents
*Statistical consultancy for other departments (for example non-clinical projects, marketing)
*Author and review departmental procedures and comply with applicable quality documents
*Keep up-to-date with statistical methodology relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and share knowledge within the department
*Other tasks as reasonably requested by senior management

Experience Required:

*Educated to degree level in Statistics or related field
*Understanding and experience of the application of statistics
*Experience as a Statistician on clinical studies in different therapeutic areas for a pharmaceutical company or contract research organisation (18 months+ for Biostatistician, 3-4 years+ for Senior)
*Good knowledge of CDISC and relevant regulatory guidelines is desirable
*Knowledge of SAS programming
*Skills including databases, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, document management
*Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
