Our client is recruiting for a Scientist I or II to join their team with a competitive salary and an incentive scheme.

A full time permanent opportunity is available on the Dundee site. The Scientist I or Scientist II will have an important role within the In Vitro Team, fully focusing on the delivery of study critical tasks. The grade the successful candidate will be hired on will be dependent on relevant experience.

Main Duties to:
* Have excellent aseptic technique as the priority for this role will be to work as part of our cell culture team.
* Have experience of culturing both fresh rodent and cryopreserved primary hepatocytes up to 96 hours for multiple end-point studies.
* Experience of isolating primary rodent hepatocytes would be advantageous.
* Other cell culture experience (e.g. Caco-2 cells, cancer cell lines, HEK 293 cells etc.) would be beneficial.
* Other in vitro assay experience such as gene expression and biochemical enzyme assays would be preferential.
* Prepare buffers, reagents and solutions and other consumables.
* When trained, prepare dose formulations.
* Carry out general laboratory housekeeping tasks.
* Operate in line with the company protocols and business strategy.
* Act as an ambassador for the business and company values.
* Comply with health and safety requirements of the site as stated within company policy, procedure and practice.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues throughout the business.
* Contribute to a culture of collaboration and team work.

Qualifications/Role Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in biology (or equivalent experience) essential.
* Experience of culturing primary hepatocytes essential.
* Personal licence (PIL) holder essential (PILA + B essential; C preferable).
* Ability to work out of hours when required essential.
* General laboratory experience essential.
* Experience of working in a regulated environment desirable.
* Good interpersonal and team-working skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Robust time management capability.
Working Hours
* 37.5 hours per week with flexibility required to meet the needs of the business.
