Do you have experience in business to business sales within the Pharmaceutical sector?

Would you like to work for a CRO with a specialist service offering?

My client is a leading CRO, providing a world class service to Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and drug discovery organisations supporting the discovery and development and clinical testing of novel drug candidates.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire an experienced Business Development professional. The purpose of this role is to build brand, sales pipeline and revenue in the Pre-Clinical drug development market. You will be the main client facing individual in the Pre-clinical business area, identifying new commercial opportunities and developing relationships as well as successfully managing existing client relationships.

The Business Development Manager closely liaises with the Pre-Clinical Sciences team to ensure services are tailored to customer requirements and business capacity and capabilities, acting as a key technical contact, embedding the company services effectively within the client drug development strategies.

The key responsibilities of this role are to;

* Identifying and prospecting a broader field of potential commercial clients with responsibility for securing new business.
* Building a robust pipeline of Pre-clinical business through effective business development and management of the full sales cycle.
* Delivery of the annual Pre-clinical commercial sales budget
* Building market awareness of Company and its capabilities in the Pre-clinical space.
* Ensuring an appropriate level of engagement between the decision makers in client organisations and their opposite numbers internally

To be considered for the role you will need the following skills and experience;

* Proven, successful experience of business development and selling services in the Life Sciences, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry.
* A degree or equivalent qualification in life sciences, pharmacology or related field.
* Experience and understanding of the drug development process.
* Excellent communication skills and can successfully develop relationships internally and externally.
* Is a self-starter and can demonstrate a resilient approach.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Independent and highly driven to achieve results.
* Good influencing skills.
* Ability to prioritise, plan and manage workload and deliver to tight deadlines.
