My client a top 10 pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organisation with sites across 3 continents are currently searching for a Business Development Manager. The business has 3 business verticals with a range of services offered including formulation services, pre formulation studies, formulation development, clinical manufacturing, clinical packaging, analytical services, commercial manufacturing and packaging.

The formulation business is in a high growth phase and to support its business development effort in Europe, they are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to focus on the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

The role involves establishing new client relationships and building on existing relationships.

You will be required to:

*Plan initial client visits of the facilities
*Prepare and deliver new client quotations in collaboration with Program Managers
*Achieve sales objectives
*Negotiate agreements of sale
*Input data and maintain prospect database
*Prepare sales activity and client visit reports
*Contribute to the implementation of marketing initiatives including providing market information, distributing materials and attending tradeshows
*Develop and maintain a current understanding of capabilities and capacity
*Develop and maintain a current understanding of the external marketplace (e.g. conditions, trends and competitors)
*Maintain a current knowledge of sales and project management skills and techniques
*Conduct all activities on and off site in a safe and responsible manner
*Identify new business opportunities from sources such as databases, publications, market analysis, trade shows and contacts

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years' experience selling development and clinical projects into biotech's and mid-size pharmaceutical companies. Scientific grounding is a must for this role and will be made up of either a strong educational background up to degree level (BA/BSc/MA/MSc), or strong industrial experience in Formulations / Analytical / Sales.
