Our client an international specialist healthcare company developing and commercialising products targeting critical care, cancer and other disorders, has an exciting opportunity. The successful applicant will act as design documentation lead and project liaison for a device development project. Working closely with external suppliers and the internal science team to document the design control process and provide engineering support for the project.

Principal Responsibilities


Documentation and recording of development work for design history files according to the companies design control procedures

Key input into device design risk assessments, including Hazard Identification and UFMEAs

Planning of device testing protocols.

Oversee experimental studies and technical reports

Apply your problem solving skills to the testing, manufacture and design of components in combination drug delivery devices.

Liaise with external suppliers of both components and manufacturing processes.

Provide technical guidance and hands on support to laboratory staff relating to verification of new designs. Including proof of concept testing of design prototypes and rigorous testing of pre-production prototypes.

Develop a detailed understanding of the technical requirements for the new devices at a component level.

Adhere to company policies on environmental, health, safety and workplace policies.

Education and Experience


BSc in mechanical engineering or related discipline.

At least 3 years' experience in Medical Device development.

Experience with the design development process to ISO13485

Experience with risk management process to ISO14971

Demonstrated technical problem solving skills

Demonstrated ability to perform tasks according to required procedures.

Excellent interpersonal skills

Good writing and communication skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office products. Use of statistical software a plus.

Ability to work as a team member and contribute to a team's success

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Attention to detail.

Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks), usability evaluation and tooling validation would be an advantage
