Description
We have an excellent opportunity to hire a Process Safety Manager for a pharmaceutical company based in the North East.
The successful applicant would be working within the HSE Department and reporting to the HSE Director, responsible for the successful implementation and maintenance of the process safety (major hazards) management system, and to provide technical input and leadership in all aspects of plant and process safety.
The main duties are:
- Ensuring compliance with COMAH, DSEAR and ATEX.
- Implementation of the MAPP and process safety management system.
- Managing the major accident hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
- Ensuring major accident hazard (MAH) risks are controlled to ALARP and involvement in decisions over the selection of the basis of safety for MAH control.
- Ownership and authorising of process safety relevant procedures and contribution to the creation/revision of other procedures as required.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline eg. chemical/process engineering or chemistry as well a demonstratable experience in a manufacturing/production environment. An understanding and appreciation of major accident legislation such as COMAH is essential. A recognised safety qualification such as NEBOSH would be advantageous.
