Principal Statistician - Berkshire - Clinical Research & Epidemiology

A very successful consultancy in the Berkshire area are looking to grow their talented group by recruiting a new Principal Statistician on a permanent contract.

This company is highly regarded for their success, great reputation and variety of services. Together with 2 other offices, this company develops statistical, epidemiological, and HEOR analyses for a range of industries. They bring together cutting edge statistics, clinical trial analysis, health economics and outcomes research, to provide the best possible support for clients taking a drug through trials or to market.

They will require a new Principal Statistician to take leadership in the team and assist them with providing high quality statistics, and to help consult with their clients. As a Statistician you will be involved in:

*Contributing knowledge and expertise to manage the team and the client to ensure study milestones are met to the right quality
*Proactively identifies, justifies and manages changes in scope that would impact timelines and budgets.
*Maintains positive working relationship with clients by keeping them up-to-date about progress of projects, working with them to develop coordinated plans that meet their needs and seeking out existing knowledge prior to developing new methods
*Ensures proper study closeout by documenting and archiving study related materials;
*Assisting in the process of protocol development by choosing an appropriate study design including statistical methodologies, calculating necessary sample size, review of randomisation procedures, CRFs and writing the statistical section of the protocol
*Writes and reviews SAPs based on the protocol and develops organised, well-presented mock-up displays for tables, listings, and figures adhering to the SAP in collaboration with the client, if required
*Reviews and approves tables, figures, and listing specifications to ensure that there are no errors present and sponsor requirements are met, jointly with project team
*Provides statistical programming support to statistical programming associates
*Develops knowledge in the use of SAS (e.g. macros, statistical procedures) and other in-house reporting systems
*Writes/reviews statistical report and clinical study report, if required

Qualifications and experience:

*PhD, MSc (or equivalent) in Statistics, Medical Statistics, or related field
*Proven experience within CRO or pharmaceutical/clinical trials environment with a minimum of 8 years experience
*Excellent understanding of statistical methods within the context of clinical trials
*Knowledge of SAS and other software's is essential
*Considerable hands-on statistical experience in both the design and analysis of clinical trials
*Excellent knowledge of different phases and types of clinical trial reporting (e.g. Phase I-IV, Clinical Study Reporting) as well methods used for reimbursement and epidemiology
*Thorough understanding of skills and goals of reporting clinical data
*Prior experience of training and mentoring of others in this field
*Demonstrated ability to manage own and other people's workloads
