PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYST
6 MONTH INITIAL CONTRACT BASED IN SANDWICH, KENT
£25,000 - £30,000 PER ANNUM DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE

A leading pharmaceutical company based in Sandwich are currently recruiting for a Pharmaceutical Analyst on an initial 6 month contract to work within the Analytical Development team. Working closely with the Pharmaceutical Sciences team, you will be testing drug substances and drug products using analytical skills such as HPLC, GC and IC all to GMP standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Analysis of multiple drug substance or drug product samples using HPLC, GC, IC or other applicable analytical techniques;
- Stability assessment of drug substances and/ or drug products;
- Method development / optimisation and validation;
- Preparation and/ or checking of documentation when required.
The position requires a person who is comfortable working within a team environment, with an enthusiasm for working in an analytical laboratory and an ability to deliver work to agreed timelines. A flexible work approach is necessary in order to respond rapidly to changing project demands and priorities.
The ideal candidate will have a Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry degree or equivalent with experience of standard analytical procedures, such as weighing and volumetric manipulations, a fundamental understanding and practical experience of HPLC as well as an ability to draw sound conclusions from experimental studies is essential in this role. Experience in HPLC method development, validation or transfer is highly desirable. A sound understanding of GLP/ GMP working practices is also highly desirable. Experience of setting test specifications, designing protocols and/ or knowledge of other analytical techniques such as tablet physical tests, GC, prep chromatography or dissolution testing would be an advantage.
