Our client is an international company who are involved with the production of recognised household brands. They have a key vacancy for a multi skilled maintenance Engineer to join the production site in Kent. The successful applicant will drive the performance of the site's overall equipment effectiveness, providing expertise to all areas of site and in new projects, supporting the standard of quality being produced across site and be a key focal point in the management of all maintenance on site.
Role and Responsibilities:
* The maintenance and repair of all production & plant equipment whilst driving efficiencies through continuous improvement activities
* Execute maintenance procedures and prioritise all work in line with plant needs and production availability
* Complete regular checks and testing on all plant to ensure they are operating within specification. (recorded appropriately)
* To ensure that Health and Safety and Quality procedures are followed, ensuring that standards are maintained i.e. work in a tidy, clean, safe, structured and professional manner.
* Comply with all Corporate, Heath and Safety and Environmental rules, standards and legislation (including 17th edition IEE Wiring Regulations for multi-skilled)
* Active in supporting the achievement of corporate strategies and departmental targets.
* Assist in the training of others in key skills, changeovers, etc.
* Assist in the development of training plans for operators along with the Continuous Improvement Manager and Packaging Managers.
* Ensure Engineering Supervisor, Packaging Managers and Engineers on shift are up-dated on latest developments / situations and any other relevant information on a regular basis.
* Lead the communication at handover to the oncoming shift Engineers
* Provide all other engineers with an understanding of faults found and steps taken to ensure that they do not recur.
Skills and Competencies
*
Extensive experience of working in a automated FMCG environment, with processing and packaging machinery
*
Mechanical qualification City & Guilds or NVQ L3 equivalent & Electrical qualification City & Guilds or NVQ L3 equivalent
*
17th Edition electrical qualification
*
Experience of troubleshooting and resolving PLC & Robotic issues
*
Detailed experience of carrying out reactive, planned, preventative and predictive maintenance
*
Working knowledge of leading continuous improvement and SMED projects
*
Knowledge of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
*
Detailed problem solving abilities and experience of formal problem solving techniques
*
Basic Lean Six Sigma qualifications (yellow or ideally green belt)
