Medical and Business Head

Medical Information- Final Signatory- UK- Slough- ABPI- Budget Management- Risk Management- Medic- Pharmacist- Compliance

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Medical and Business Head to join a reputable, lead Biopharmaceutical company. The company focuses on treatments for severe diseases particularly in the fields of CNS, Epilepsy, Inflammatory disorders and Oncology.

The company are looking for a Medic who will provide strategic oversight and leadership of the business integrity in the areas of compliance, medical information, risk management and data privacy.

As a Medical and Business Head you will:
*Be the expert for all compliance and ABPI/IPHA code related matters
*Manage the compliance department members
*Provide ABPI/IPHA compliance/SOP related advice, take ownership and seek resolution of compliance issues
*Oversee the training of relevant staff
*Ensure programmes are targeted at various audiences to increase awareness
*Oversee compliance related activities performed by other members of the compliance team such as:
-Supervision of the meetings approvals processes
-Manage materials (promotional and non-promotional) approvals processes
*Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the ABPI/IPHA Codes and advertising and promotion of medicines
*Ensure the production of appropriate and robust processes/ SOPs to ensure the company complies with all advertising related regulatory requirements
*Ensure the production of mandatory public declarations
*Ensure non GxP compliance with the local and international regulations and guidelines and SOPs for all activities, promotional materials and patient related activities
*Provide leadership, mentoring, supervision and oversight for the affiliates department staff including setting and implementing strategic direction, budget management, SOPs etc.

Risk Management
*Act as a lead to ensure the database is updated according to company request
*Actively participate in risk management planning in conjunction with all countries management team

Provision of medical information
*High quality responses to enquiries on products and therapy areas from patients, healthcare professionals, sales representatives and other parties
*Ensure that safety and quality issues received through medical information requests are handled in a timely manner
*Develop and maintain your own professional expertise with regard to new and marketed products

Data privacy
*Ensure that the handling of personal data is conducted according to internal and external relevant data privacy regulations
*Ensure that reporting obligations are fully compliant

Cross functional working
*Patient safety
*Quality
*Regulatory affairs

An ideal Medical and Business Head will:
*Be a Medic (GMC registered)- accept Pharmacists
*Relevant experience in the compliance field in the Pharmaceutical industry
*Be a recognised medical signatory
*Line management experience
