Medical Affairs Officer

The opportunity for a Medical Affairs Officer has become available with a Pharmaceutical company based in Manchester. They are either looking for a UK Registered Pharmacist or someone with previous experience in Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance or Regulatory Affairs. The company are a research-driven global enterprise committed to working in partnership with healthcare professionals to improve patients' lives.

The company's aim is to become a world leader in respiratory medicine. They allocate their research and development investment in response to unmet patient needs with research being carried out in a number of familiar and specialist therapeutic areas.

They are looking for a Medical Affairs Officer who will act as a first point of contact in giving medical information and assisting the Medical Affairs Manager with the core functions.

As a Medical Affairs Officer you will:
*Answer queries, ranging from simple to more complex queries which require in-depth interpretation and literature searches
*Confidence in oral and written communication with customers of all levels
*Create standard responses to enquiries
*Search online medical databases- PubMed
*Review accuracy of training materials according to the ABPI Code of Practice
*Provide sales representatives training
*Liaise with the marketing department
*Support the activities of the MSLs
*Maintain knowledge of specified product and therapy area
*Provide support for HTA submissions
*Participate in out of hours calls rota for Medical Information
*Any other ad hoc duties required by the Medical Affairs Manager

An ideal Medical Affairs Officer will have:
*Scientific background in Medical or Biological Science
*Ideally previous Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance or Regulatory Affairs experience
*Basic level of experience in customer service
*Excellent communication skills
*High standard of literacy and written communication
*Proactive and effective team player
*Interpret scientific and clinical trial data
*Ability to manage multiple projects
*Desirable- experience in Neonatology or Respiratory
