Paramount are working in partnership with Genomics England to expand their team in order to deliver success Paramount are working in partnership with Genomics England to expand their team in order to with the 100,000 Genomes Project. This is a challenging and fast moving project with the aim to carry out whole genome sequencing on 100,000 participants. Genomics England works with key partners to collect, transport, store, quality check and sequence the samples from participants. The aim for this project is to create a new genomic medicine service for the NHS - transforming the way people are cared for. Patients may be offered a diagnosis where there wasn't one before. In time, there is the potential of new and more effective treatments.

This role's main purpose will be to assist in the co-ordination, day-to-day running and on-time implementation of key projects within Genomics England, especially those within the bioinformatics and clinical interpretation areas.

Key Accountabilities:

*Effectively manage bioinformatics and genomic analysis projects, from end to end.
*Assist with the collaborative development of bioinformatics and clinical interpretation platforms, to ensure that key milestones are met for their development, highlighting risks to the projects and ensuring that resources are appropriately assigned.
*Interface with stakeholders such as NHS genomic medicine centres, scientists, clinicians, bioinformaticians and Genomics England working groups as needed to ensure the successful roll-out of software products, and to ensure that customer requirements are met.
*Support and organise project meetings, including organising and producing agenda, papers, actions and notes.
*Analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues or risks and support decision making.
*Ensure all partners are aware of each other's priorities and activities.

Requirements:

*Experience leading and successfully co-ordinating and delivering projects across multiple stakeholder groups while under tight timelines.
*Must have a scientific academic background, eg. a BSc/MSc or PhD in genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology or a related field
*Project management and report writing skills.
*Independent, highly organised and possess thorough documentation practices.
*Must have demonstrated excellent ability to interface with customers and internal teams ideally in both clinical and software settings.
*Be able to work cross-functionally to execute goals and set and meet milestones.
*Basic understanding of genetics, sequencing and bioinformatics is essential.
*Strong organisational, time management and planning skills.
*Self-motivated, with excellent ability to work on own initiative.
*Ability to work under pressure without compromising the quality of work
*Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
*Competent use of all standard MS Office applications, including ideally MS project and collaborative software such as Jira/Zephyr and Confluence.
*Ideally experience of working within PRINCE 2 and Agile project environments.
