Description

A leading Medical Publishing company is seeking a home- based Editorial Assistant to join their successful team. The medical publisher works across several therapy areas including endocrinology, oncology and haematology, ophthalmology, cardiology, neurology and respiratory.

As Editorial Assistant you will support the Managing Editor across all therapy areas in the day- to- day running of the journals. This will involve you managing author submissions, preparing articles for peer review, editing articles to house style and sub-editing. You will communicate with authors to update them on the status of papers and answer any pre-submission enquiries. Furthermore, you will support the managing editor in organising video interviews with leading experts, ensuring questions have been prepared and a meeting time scheduled.

To be considered for this fantastic editorial role you should have:
- Around one years' experience in a medical/ scientific publishing company or similar environment.

- Previous experience in sub-editing and peer review.

- Good understanding of key medical publication guidelines.

- Experience throughout all major stages of publication (submissions, peer review and liaising with authors).

- Strong organisational skills.

In return you will be offered a competitive starting salary and benefits package. Although you will be based remotely you will have an initial one-week training period, lots of support and regular meetings.
