Bioinformatics Project Manager

Permanent, Central London, 100,000 Genomes Project

A fantastic new opportunity has become available for a Bioinformatics Project Manager to join a Top Genomics company in Central London. We at Paramount are working in partnership with Genomics England to expand their team in order to deliver success with the 100,000 Genomes Project. This is a challenging and fast-moving project with the aim to carry out whole genome sequencing on 100k participants.

As the project nears the 100k mark, Genomics England are working with the NHS to launch the world's first Genomic Medicine Service. It's a fantastic time to be joining them - the Bioinformatics team are looking for a Project Manager to assist in coordination, day-to-day running and on-time implementation of software development within the company.

Candidates must have previous Project Management experience within Genomics/Bioinformatics as well as Agile software development (or Agile environment in general).

As a Project Manager your main responsibilities will be:

*Effectively manage bioinformatics and genomic analysis projects, from end to end.
*Assist with the collaborative development of bioinformatics and clinical interpretation platforms, to ensure that key milestones are met for their development, highlighting risks to the projects and ensuring that resources are appropriately assigned.
*Interface with stakeholders such as external suppliers, scientists, clinicians, bioinformaticians and Genomics England working groups as needed to ensure the successful roll-out of software products, and to ensure that customer requirements are met.
*Support and organise scrum meetings
*Analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues or risks and support decision making.
*Ensure all partners are aware of each other's priorities and activities.

The ideal Project Manager will fulfil the following requirements:

*Experience of project management within an Agile software development environment, preferably with scrum master experience (essential)
*Extensive experience of managing diverse and complex projects and large software initiatives ideally in the genomics space. (essential)
*Basic understanding of genetics, sequencing and bioinformatics (essential)
*Data management, operational and scientific problem-solving skills.
*Project reporting capability and high level of analytical skills.
*Must have demonstrated excellent ability to interface with customers and internal teams ideally in the software settings.
*Ability to analyse information and present it in a clear, concise way to clinical, scientific, and corporate audiences.
*Ability to work under pressure without compromising the quality of work.
*Experience in managing software project development, deployment, or integration; experience with clinical genomics within a biotech/pharmaceutical organisation, research institute, or academic medical centre is preferred.
*Excellent communication skills
