Bioinformatics Project Manager - Fixed-term (12 months)

Genomics, Software Development, Management!

Paramount are working in partnership with Genomics England to help expand their team - after successfully completing the 100,000 Genomes Project recently they are working together with the NHS to launch the World's First Genomic Medicine Service. This will transform the way patients are cared for in the future, offering equitable access to the 55 million people in England to the latest genomic medicine and research.

A fantastic position has become available for a Bioinformatics Project Manager to assist in coordination, day-to-day running and on-time implementation of software development at Genomics England within the bioinformatics and interpretation areas. This role is a 12-month fixed term contract.

This role would be an ideal fit for an experienced Project Manager within Software, Bioinformatics, Genomics, with at least a basic understanding of genetics, sequencing and bioinformatics as you will need to understand the terminology.

As a Technical Project Manager you will have the following responsibilities:
*Effectively manage bioinformatics and genomic analysis projects, from end to end.
*Assist with the collaborative development of bioinformatics and clinical interpretation platforms, to ensure that key milestones are met for their development, highlighting risks to the projects and ensuring that resources are appropriately assigned.
*Interface with stakeholders such as external suppliers, scientists, clinicians, bioinformaticians and Genomics England working groups as needed to ensure the successful roll-out of software products, and to ensure that customer requirements are met.
*Support and organise scrum meetings
*Analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues or risks and support decision making.
*Ensure all partners are aware of each other's priorities and activities.

The ideal Bioinformatics Project Manager will have the following skills:
*Experience of Project Management within an Agile software development environment
*Extensive experience managing diverse and complex projects and large software initiatives ideally in the genomics space
*Basic understanding of genetics, sequencing and bioinformatics
*Data management, operational and scientific problem-solving skills
*Project reporting capability and a high level of analytical skills
*Must have demonstrated excellent ability to interface with customers and internal teams ideally in the software settings
